Tropical nights (TR20)
Tropical nights (TR20): annual count of days when daily minimum temperature is greater than 20 °C (TN > 20 ºC). The unit of measurement is “days”.
The evolution of TR20 anomaly (ATR20, difference between the annual value of TR20 and the mean value of TR20 in the reference period 1981-2010) during the period 1959-2020 is shown for the Pyrenees and for 4 areas of the Massif (Northern Pyrenees, Southern Pyrenees, Mediterranean Pyrenees and Atlantic Pyrenees); for each of the 12 series analyzed, the evolution of TR20 index is shown.
The annual mean of TR20 for the Pyrenees is obtained from the annual TR20 values of 12 representative series of the Pyrenees massif (areas at different altitudes and on all slopes: north, south, east or Mediterranean and west or Atlantic), while the mean value of TR20 for the 4 zones of the Massif is obtained from the annual TR20 values of the representative series located in each zone.
