Total precipitation in wet days (PRCPTOT)
Ttoal precipitation in wet days (PRCPTOT): annual value of accumulated precipitation considereing only “wet days” (PPT ≥ 1,0 mm). The unit of measurement for PRCPTOT is millimeters (mm, equivalent to liters per square meter) and for APRCPTOT (it is a relative anomaly) is percentage (%).
The evolution of PRCPTOT anomaly (APRCPTOT, calculated as the quotient of the difference between the annual value of PRCPTOT and the mean value of PRCPTOT in the reference period 1981-2010 divided by this mean value of the reference period) during the period 1959-2020 is shown for the Pyrenees and for 4 areas of the Massif (Northern Pyrenees, Southern Pyrenees, Mediterranean Pyrenees and Atlantic Pyrenees); for each of the 26 series analyzed, the evolution of PRCPTOT index is shown.
The annual mean of PRCPTOT for the Pyrenees is obtained from the annual PRCPTOT values of 26 representative series of the Pyrenees massif (areas at different altitudes and on all slopes: north, south, east or Mediterranean and west or Atlantic), while the mean value of PRCPTOT for the 4 zones of the Massif is obtained from the annual PRCPTOT values of the representative series located in each zone.

The Bulletin of Climate Change Indicators of the Pyrenees (BICCPIR) 2020 aims to deepen the knowledge of the anthropic climate change effects in the Pyrenees. Thus, information on the climate evolution is provided through a set of indicators grouped by systems.
