Consecutive dry days (CDD)
Consecutive dry days (CDD): it is the maximum length of dry spell in one year, or the annual maximum number of consecutive days with daily precipitation less than 1,0 mm (PPT < 1 mm). The unit of measurement is days.
The evolution of CDD anomaly (ACDD, difference between the annual value of CDD and the mean value of CDD in the reference period 1981-2010) during the period 1959-2020 is shown for the Pyrenees and for 4 areas of the Massif (Northern Pyrenees, Southern Pyrenees, Mediterranean Pyrenees and Atlantic Pyrenees); for each of the 26 series analyzed, the evolution of CDD index is shown.
The annual mean of CDD for the Pyrenees is obtained from the annual CDD values of 26 representative series of the Pyrenees massif (areas at different altitudes and on all slopes: north, south, east or Mediterranean and west or Atlantic), while the mean value of CDD for the 4 zones of the Massif is obtained from the annual CDD values of the representative series located in each zone.
