Sprouting of Cornish oak (Quercus petraea)
The indicator is the number of the week of the year in which the bud sprouting of the Cornish oak (Quercus petraea) is observed.
It is calculated from 6 plots of 36 trees each, that is, 216 individuals (the location of the plots is shown on the map; it is recommended to enlarge the map for greater detail). In each plot, the number of the week of the year in which 90% of the trees have already sprouted is obtained; the mean value for the Pyrenees is obtained from the value obtained in the 6 plots studied. Phenological observations of the oak began in 2013 for the three oldest plots and, since 2017, 6 plots have already been analyzed.
The evolution of the indicator for the period 2013-2019 is shown (solid line). The shaded area around the solid line indicates the confidence interval that may vary each year.
