Fields of study
BICCPIR provides information on indicators grouped into four categories according to the analyzed variable or system: air temperature, precipitation, sensitive ecosystems (glaciers, high mountain lakes and ice caves) and forests (sprouting of four forest species), with data updated until 2020. It is planned, in next editions, to incorporate other variables (snow, for example) and other systems (water resources, fauna, flora and natural risks).

All analyzed climate change indicators in the different categories that appear on this portal are associated with one or more of these socioeconomic sectors. The sectors related to each indicator are displayed just to the right of the text that explains the definition and calculation of the indicator.
This association should be interpreted as which socioeconomic sector (or sectors) may suffer the greatest impact according to the evolution of the climate change indicator, without eliminating the possibility that other sectors also have an interest to know this evolution of the indicator.
